FEMALE PILOTS TO CELEBRATE CENTENNIAL!
Free: First flights offered by Gordonsville Airport (Gordonsville, VA) female pilot(s) March 6 - March 12 to any female daring enough to go! Women pilots around the world are celebrating the 100th anniversary of the first time a woman pilot earned a pilot certificate by taking a woman or girl for her first flight in a general aviation aircraft.
Raymonde De Laroche, a French balloonist, learned to fly a fixed-wing aircraft and was the first woman to receive her pilot's certificate March 8, 1910.
Groups such as The Ninety-Nines, Women in Aviation International, International Society of Woman Airline Pilots, EAA and other groups will be participating as well.

Richmond FISDO will offer its annual IA renewal seminare
The Richmond Flight Standards District Office will hold its 8-hour
Inspection Authorization and Aviation Maintenance Technician Training
Seminar on Saturday, March 20, 2010. The seminar will be held at the
Virginia Department of Aviation State Hangar, 5702 Gulfstream Road,
Richmond International Airport, Virginia. The seminar is from 8:00 a.m. to
5:00 p.m. with registration starting at 7:30 a.m.
The following guest speakers will be presenting during the seminar:
Mr. Richard A. Peri, Vice President of Government & Industry Affairs,
Aircraft Electronics Association
Mr. Peter L. Rouse, FAA Aircraft Certification Office, Small Aircraft
Directorate

Attendance meets the renewal requirements of 14 CFR Part 65.93(a)(4).

NOTE: Even though the renewal requirements have now gone to two years. You
must continue to meet the requirements of 65.93 yearly.
Calling All Pilots!
Pilots cannot exercise the privileges of their PAPER pilot certificates after March 31, 2010.
Certificates issued under 14 CFR Part 61 and 65 will expire March 31, 2013.
FAR 61.19(h) reads:
Duration of pilot certificates. Except for a temporary certificate issued under §61.17 or a student pilot certificate issued under paragraph (b) of this section, the holder of a paper pilot certificate issued under this part may not exercise the privileges of that certificate after March 31, 2010.

GAPS is a nonprofit organization (pending IRS paper work return) and exist only for the promotion, preservation and innovation of general aviation and community involvement with aviation.
Bluebird Aerodrome, LLC acts as a focal point for the general aviation community for restoration and the promotion of community involvement in the preservation and historic value of general aviation at the Gordonsville Municipal Airport in Gordonsville, VA.
Both organizations are not for profit. We do not run a business at the airport but provide such services as mowing grass, providing clean rest rooms, and historic information about the airport to the visiting community.
